NIH National Institutes Of Health Building 10 E Wing Renovation, Bethesda, MD

This renovation of approximately 250,000 square feet included conversion of spaces previously utilized for patient care and associated laboratory services into modernized research laboratory spaces with support spaces and teaching facilities. Estimated to support as many as 1500 staff members, this renovation will serve eleven different organizations, including a blood-bank for the NIH Clinical Center, and will feature cutting edge utilities and equipment for specialized research. Energy efficiency was enhanced through the installation of low-e perimeter glass throughout, and a complete replacement of E-wing’s lighting and mechanical systems. The renovation was designed to achieve LEED Silver designation.
