P-114 Medical Center Addition / Alteration, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Naval Support Activity, Bethesda, MD

This scope of this project includes the demolition of aging buildings at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) totaling 283,700 sf, a new 575,000 sf building, and renovation of 124,000 sf of interior renovations. The work is being performed at the center of WRNMMC’s south complex and requires significant revisions to utility and communications surrounding the site, so to not interrupt operations in the adjoining buildings. After the completion of utility work and establishing alternate pedestrian pathways circumventing the construction site, 5 buildings will be demolished to make way for the new Building C. This new building will include new MRI and X-ray services, administration space, a cafeteria, and an auditorium. The building will serve as a centralized Women’s Health Center, new Wounded Warrior clinic, a Pain Block and Stone Center, and a new family-centered medical and surgical center with inpatient bedrooms and amenities. The project is scheduled to be completed by March 2026.
